The band is called Lower Dens, the song is called Hospice Gates off the album Twin-Hand Movement. Quickly becoming my new favorite album (sorry Destroyer, had to happen eventually)
Because I can’t always be bitching about the disappointments of the Midwest.
I shouldn’t be disappointed, I had a very strong feeling “Kanrocksas” (the new music festival in KCK) would be a bust. They released their lineup today. Eminem is one of the headliners. None of the support bands are anything I really care about. Great, some tool fans are here to see A Perfect Circle. I’m sure camping with those people along with self admitted Eminem fans would be a blast. I hope they have security because there will be thefts and fights.
I was really hoping they would get some “big names” in the indie world to headline. Radiohead, Animal Collective, Arcade Fire, Phoenix, The Strokes, these would have been great headliners. With bands like this headlining the supporting lineup would have had the potential to be incredible. It probably goes without saying that I’ll not dish out $170 to attend this event.
